In the charming town of Zollino, an Italian municipality in Salentinian Greece known for its Hellenic dialect, Griko, stands the splendid Villa Chiriatti. Villa Chiriatti represents valuable evidence of the area's strong Byzantine influence, evident in the still perfectly preserved friezes that adorn the windows of the entire mansion, set in a 4,000-square-meter garden.
Arranged on a single level, the villa offers 500 sqm of interior space and is distinguished by its extraordinary brightness, guaranteed by 12 tall windows that surround the property. The 11 spacious rooms are embellished with historic and colorful cement tiles (different for each room) also in excellent condition. The entrance hall gives access both to a room located precisely in front and to the four rooms to the right reached through a corridor, along which is a bathroom. The last room has, inside it, access to a convenient checkroom. Also from the entrance hall there is access to a large and bright living room that has three French doors facing the veranda making this room particularly bright. The high perimeter walls ensure maximum privacy and an atmosphere of absolute relaxation. From the kitchen there is access via stairs to the enchanting underground cellar of 250 square meters, made entirely of stone of the period, with vaulted ceilings in excellent condition. The same can also be reached by stairs at the back of the garden next to an ancient well. Zollino is a place where you can breathe History. The town preserves important evidence of its past: the characteristic "pozzelle" for collecting water, the church of Saints Peter and Paul of Greek-Byzantine origin, the evocative Menhir and numerous other finds from prehistoric times.
